<h1><u>Fountain of youth</u></h1>

Genetic engineering seems to have found the elusive fountain of youth, or rather, the protein of youth.A group of scientists from Newcastle University in England found a way to enhance the natural repair mechanism of the body.

They found that higher levels of a specialized protein, known as PARP-1, helps cells to recover more effectively. PARP-1 works by restoring the damaged strands of genetic material, DNA.

DNA damage that causes aging and is also a factor in cancer development, so the finding fountain of youth could also lead to the discovery of new treatments against this disease.
